Lab Grown
Diamonds
Lab grown diamonds are being used for engagement rings, wedding bands as well as other lab grown diamond jewellery. Lab grown or man made diamonds have the same chemical composition as natural diamonds so are visually identical. These diamonds are ideal for people looking to save some money and still get that diamond brilliance, fire, sparkle and luster. The only real difference between lab grown diamonds, and their natural cousins, is scarcity. Lab grown diamond jewellery has grown in popularity as a cheaper alternative to natural diamonds. If you’d like to spend less on your sparkle, and buy a lab grown diamond, contact the Fergus James team.

FERGUS’S TOP 3 PRINCESS TIPS
Focus on Dimensions
Check the actual mm length and width dimensions (noted on the diamond certificate) of the Marquise diamond not just the carat weight. A well cut 0.9ct Marquise shape will have better dimensions, and look bigger, than many 1ct Marquise cut diamonds. This helps to maximize visual impact and reduce the cost.
Clarity Matters with Princess
With Asscher cut diamonds try and select ones with VS1 clarity or better to ensure that the diamond is eye clean.
Colour is Important
Asscher cut diamonds are in short supply - contact the Fergus James team so we can work for you with traders who don't list their diamonds online sellers. This will help you get the best option at the best price.

LAB CREATED DIAMONDS
Lab grown diamonds are not anything new. NASA produced the first lab grown diamond back in the 1960’s so they’ve been around for a good while. Lab grown diamonds are produced using two different methods which are the High Pressure High Temperature technique (HPHT) and the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) approach. When the lab grown diamonds have gone through either of these processes a rough lab grown diamond is the end result. The rough lab grown diamond then goes to a diamond cutter who cuts the diamond into a diamond shape. The lab grown polished diamond then goes to the IGI diamond laboratory to be independently graded and given a lab grown diamond certificate of authenticity. Then the lab grown diamond is sold to a wholesaler or direct to a jeweler. The synthetic diamond ultimately ends up in piece of lab grown diamond jewellery.
