Focus on Dimensions
Check the actual mm length and width dimensions (noted on the diamond certificate) of the Radiant diamond not just the carat weight. A well cut 0.9ct Radiant shape will have better dimensions, and look bigger, than many 1ct Radiant cut diamonds. This helps to maximize visual impact and reduce the cost.

RADIANT ENGAGEMENT RINGS
The Radiant cut diamond is a relatively new shape having only been conceived in 1977. Henry Grossbard designed the Radiant cut to combine the best elements of a round cut diamonds luster, along with the shape of an emerald shape diamond. People are attracted by it’s brilliance and uniform rectangular shape not seen in any other diamond shape. It’s a really versatile diamond shape looking equally at home in halo and classic designs alike. The classic radiant shaped diamond is rectangular in shape whose sparkle, fire and brilliance is only surpassed by the round diamond. It’s not surprising that the radiant shape is gaining in popularity as an ever increasing rate. Drew Barrymore’s stunning 4 carat diamond in radiant shape was one of the first large radiant cut engagement ring to be worn by a Hollywood star. Whilst a 4 carat radiant is going to cost you don’t need to spend too much on buying a 5 carat, 3 carat or even a 2 carat diamond. A 1 carat diamond still looks amazing and ticks all the important requirements for a diamond that sparkles and shines. White and canary diamonds are the most popular choices. When selecting a Radiant shape it’s important to ensure a length to width ratio of between 1.25 to 1.55. Anything within this range, or very close to this range, has a really nice balance. If you prefer a more rectangular diamond shape then look for a length to width ratio closer to 1.55. If you prefer something a bit squarer then a ratio close to 1.2 would work really well for you.
